The Cellience Process
A New and Unique Approach
Regenerative medicine is a game-changing area of medicine for people experiencing pain or injury. Unlike cortisone injections which mask symptoms and can cause damage tissue, cell therapy targets the root of the problem, healing and rebuilding tissue using your own cells.
Cellience takes a bold new approach. We incorporate the three distinct therapies that define our care, stem cell therapy, platelet rich plasma, and amniotic cell therapy as individual treatments, or in highly therapeutic combination at calculated intervals. In this way, we can offer a more exacting treatment plan for each patient, maximizing your healing potential.
Neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand joint pain/injury/arthritis
Thoracic and lumbar spine joint pain/injury/arthritis
Hip, knee, ankle and foot joint pain/injury/arthritis
Cervical, thoracic and lumbar disc pain and injury
Muscle, tendon and ligament injury and pain
Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (A2M) is a compound that acts as a powerful inhibitor of cartilage breakdown. A master protease inhibitor that exists in your blood, it attaches to and removes the destructive proteins in the joint. This molecule works by binding the chemicals (proteases) that degrade the cartilage cells and tissue.
Amniotic Fluid Therapy
Placental amnion contains an abundance of nutrients and growth factors which are highly therapeutic and provide significant pain relief for many patients. Like stem cells and PRP, amniotic fluid injections are non-surgical, however they differ from stem cells in a key way; Stem cells promote the growth of cartilage and bone, whereas...
At Cellience, we specialize in a procedure which concentrates the naturally occurring A2M molecule in your blood up to 6 times. This process allows therapeutic injections in concentrated doses that increases your body's ability to naturally heal itself by reducing further deterioration of cartilage.
During the procedure, a small amount of blood is taken from the patient which is spun and filtered. The purified plasma is then injected under ultrasound or flouroscopy into and around the injured area. This approach has proved to be highly effective treatment for degenerative and arthritic conditions of the joints, discs, tendons and ligaments. A2M can also be beneficial treatment on its own. You and Dr. Babus will make the determination whether or not to use A2M alone or in combination with stem cell implementation based on your history and physical.
...amniotic fluid encourages the growth and healing of soft tissue. Unique to Cellience, this treatment can be used alone or combined with PRP and stem cell therapies, allowing for additive effects.
The amniotic process uses fluid derived from human placental amnion. It is donated by pre-screened women, who have volunteered their amniotic fluid after undergoing elective caesarean delivery. All donor fluid is carefully screened both before and after processing to ensure the highest purity. During the procedure, the amniotic fluid is injected into joints, discs and trigger points, replacing traditional steroid therapy. Cellience drives regenerative medicine forward by being the source of this excellent therapy technique.
Stem Cell Therapy
Stem cell therapy is the cornerstone of regenerative medicine. This non-surgical procedure encourages cell growth and rejuvenation, helping the body repair itself, leading to strength and relief from pain. For this procedure we use adult stem cells called mesenchymal stem cells or MSCs.
MSCs are amazingly gifted natural healers! They are the precursors to all cells and have the potential to develop into any type of cell including bone, cartilage, fat, and stromal cells, all which support blood formation. Blood formation, or cell development, is key to triggering the body's natural healing power, but MSC's do more; they release a multitude of growth factors encouraging the repair of damaged tissue and decreasing inflammation in joints, discs, ligaments and tendons. MSCs for stem cell therapy are found within the patients' own body. Small amounts of tissue are extracted from fat or bone marrow, and the stem cells are then isolated in our own sterile lab.
At Cellience your procedure can be performed under both fluoroscopic (x-ray) guidance and/or ultrasound guidance, an important duality of care. The benefit of using a combination of guidance is a precise placement of your injection, greatly increasing the potential for a successful outcome. Dr. Babus has twenty years' experience with both guidance techniques.
